Julia Gabriel Mandarin PlayClub Term 3: Lesson 20

Many commented this outfit is too mature for Yvette. Actually this is a top for 4yo, I brought it and let Yvette wear it as a dress for now. I like it very much but then perhaps the colour makes Yvette looks old?

D was off today. It’s his actual birthday and we were heading for some celebration later. And because today was party day, Teacher Lee allowed D to be in class with me!

IMG_6791

Many tots love the hand painting but Yvette didn’t like it at all.

IMG_6792

Both teachers were dressed up. They made their own costume and they look cute than ever before!

IMG_6809

IMG_6810

Teacher Lee sew an Octopus costume

The Octopus look scary to Yvette. Yvette didn’t even want to touch it at all!!!

IMG_6818

Daddy loves the Octopus Yvette did today. Especially the Yellow Octopus. He loves the eye!

JGC T3 Wk 10 Fri1

After the Craft, they have some quite time – reading before Party Time! Yvette will usual pick up the book and started to “read”!

IMG_6833

These were the food we had and some were left over from the previous class. All of us enjoy the food and the final get together time.

IMG_6841

IMG_6844

The teachers squeezed some time for Outdoor Play.

IMG_6848

Finally the most important activity of the day before Music & Movement. Yvette received the certificate with pride and couldn’t take her eye off from it.

Julia Gabriel Mandarin PlayClub Term 3: Lesson 19

I took this picture while we waiting for lift. Yvette loves to look at the display panel of the lift and count together with the upcoming lift. She looks so cute in these two pictures.

IMG_6689 IMG_6688

章鱼 is the topic for this week lesson. Teacher Lee used the mini Octopus to teach during the Magic Box Time.

IMG_6695

D always says Teacher Lee is full of expression and I agree with two hands up. I like that way she use her face expression and her body language to trigger the child’s interest in learning and their participation.

Craft Time besides PlayTime is always Yvette’s favourite. How I wish she have the same behaviour when ever she is learning.

I wish!

JGC T3 Wk 10 Wed

The Drama is so interesting that every tots remain quiet and watch that quietly. It’s about how the Octopus use his ink sacs to camouflage themselves when the sharks going to attack him. And the Octopus can escape from danger very fast too.

IMG_6706

Here’s her snack. (One serving) And she finished them all.

IMG_6710

Since we were back to JGC, I always let Yvette play on her own with her classmate and her teachers. Sometimes I will just disappear and move away from her. Sometimes I do tell her sometimes not. But she never look for me! Good news?

IMG_6711

I love her participation in Music and Movement.

IMG_6718

As we were need to rush off on Friday, I took picture for Yvette with all the Teachers that are teaching her in Playclub now and before.

I am very sure she will miss this school! Hope we can be back for Speech and Drama soon!

Julia Gabriel Mandarin PlayClub Term 3: Lesson 18

It doesn’t rain but pour!

Bad bad day today.

2 incidents happened in the morning pissed me off.

Then it was raining heavily when I travelled to school with Yvette. I was  drenched.  (Yvette was in the carrier and I was using an umbrella but the rain was really very heavy.)

Although Yvette was not as bad as me, I have to change her to avoid her catching cold. But her hair was half wet. Luckily the mummies and the teachers there were soooooo helpful. They lent me a bottom and help me to dry Yvette while I get myself changed.

Class was rather small. 5 tots.

Learning Colour Blue was today lesson topic. And Teacher Lee demonstrated how to blow a balloon. This made the tots laughed. She is really very into her teaching. (她很卖力的教!)

JGC T3 Wk 9 Fri1

After blowing the balloon, she let the tots played with the balloon using the passing game. Once the music stop, the balloon will be landed in one tot’s hand and they were supposed to tell the teacher the colour of the balloon. Thumb up for the teachers’ creativeness in helping the tot to remember the colour.

IMG_6466

And during the Art demo, they are using the balloon (filled with water) for to coat with paint and stamp on the paper. The teacher use different size of balloons to teach the tots big and small.

Yvette was in good mood when doing her art but the something was terribly wrong after her artwork.

JGC T3 Wk 9 Fri

She threw tantrum for the first time during the Mandarin lesson. Both Teachers were shock. Even all the mothers there were surprise. They regarded her as a happy child and who loves school. I can’t walk away or ignore in school just like I did at home. It really took me awhile to pacify her!

The Drama was about the sister Panda was still willing to help her younger sister even though the younger sister didn’t share. Although it is about teaching the colour Blue; it is about sibling love.

The tots were supposed to wash their hand after the Drama before snack. But Yvette decided to drive me up to the wall. Choosing to throw another round tantrum in school was really a good move as I can’t really scream at her in front of so many people. Moreover, I have friends in next class and it certainly not going to be good if I do scold her in loud voice.

Sigh.

No snack for her then because she didn’t want to eat them. I finished them all. 😦

Her mood was much better but I was totally dumbfounded and I didn’t take much good photos after that.

I did realise she was extremely easy to feed as I brought along her lunch because I was heading facial after the class. Perhaps the rain had affected her mood or perhaps she was too hungry and triggered off her bad cells. (She didn’t eat much breakfast before we left for class.)

Julia Gabriel Mandarin PlayClub Term 3: Lesson 17

Another 3 more lessons to go, we really have to say bye bye to JGC for a period of time. I haven’t received any call from JGC about her slot for for Speech and Drama. Even I do have a slot now, I might not want to enrol her too. Let me see how she could cope with her new life.

This week is the Blue Blue week and they (and even us) are supposed to be dressed in blue. There she goes in this blue dress.

IMG_6386

She was singing "Hop little bunny, hop hop hop." and she was trying to hop!

In the bus-stop, she always like to look at this cat and always get very near to it. I am always afraid her-never-ending-love-affair with the cat will get her into danger because she always get too near to it. (I always have to pull her away from the cat.)

IMG_6389

(Her expression is funny in these two photographs.)

Despite taking bus to school today, we were still early for Free Play.

IMG_6390

This was the first time she moved forward to search for her Teacher before Magic Box and Self-Introduction. Sign of growing up.

IMG_6393

The second craft came in time. She been telling me the “The Sky is blue” for the past few weeks and this is the right time with the right material telling her “蓝色的天空“.

IMG_6398

IMG_6396

Although I miss what they used to go thru the word card with the tots. They adopted new teaching method of revising. They will sing song and run thru the card with the tots. They also reinforce the new word learnt during the Magic Box Time by bring the word card to the tots making the tots to read  the word after them.

I like these teachers taking parents’ suggestion seriously. After all, it really didn’t take up a lot of classroom time. And moreover the tots learn.

IMG_6401

No drama today but all the tots could sit down quietly to listen to the story.

IMG_6402

I like school stressing on queuing and keeping things in sequence. In JGC, the (most) teachers will ensure the tots queue up to get their food. In long run, it will definitely benefits the tots.

IMG_6403

IMG_6404

She loves to read book introducing colour since she knows them all. She also loves to share with me things she knows.

IMG_6405

Yvette @ Outdoor Play. Yes, she doesn’t need me anymore.

IMG_6406

IMG_6407

Since we are back when she was 26mths, I got many positive feedback  from all her teachers that she are using Mandarin to communicate with them without any single word of English. This is very encouraging.

In fact, I also encounter many times, she forming sentences in Mandarin. (I think she knows all these words long ago.) She will goes “我要吃面包” “我要玩玩具”  “爸爸去上班”… I am glad I have manage to provide her a platform for her to fully stretch her ability in her language and am happy that she is now consider Bilingual.  We are now speaking more mandarin at home and she have mastered more words from 我会读。(Good thing is, I also find out she actually can recognise many English word. This is something I never stress her to learn.)

I have been diligently taking video recently because Yvette really likes the songs they sing in class. We have been with JGC so long and never know that they do sell the song in CD. I got all these 3 CD from JGC. They are not cheap but worth getting. However, after listening to 3 CD, I think Disc 3 is the most worth getting. It’s sang by Teacher Lee.

IMG_6408

Music and Movement is no fun because there was small accident involved. Yvette bumped her head on the fall because she took for granted that I was just sitting behind her. One good things about Yvette, she got very high threshold for pain. She usually never or rarely cry when she hurt herself.
