娃娃亲子班 @ Singapore Hokkien Huay Kuan Arts & Cultural Troupe – Lesson 1

First I must thank one reader for telling me about the enrolment date for this class last year. Without him, I will probably miss it. My neighbour had been telling me how good is this school and I didn’t really follow up with her compliment.

But because of this reader, I managed to sign Yvette up. They have several classes I could consider but I will think I will start with a parent accompanied class .

P/S: Classes I could consider and thinking of switching after Yvette is able to go to the class by herself will be:

  • Speech & Drama
  • Kiddy Art
  • Fun Chinese
  • Children Percussion

To me, one of my greatest joys are to accompany Yvette in learning and watching her grow up, thus I choose a accompanied class again. This course is about 60% similar to JGC Mandarin Playclub Yvette was attending previously. The differences are:

  • they don’t snack time
  • they don’t play outdoor play.

The class size is big as compared to JGC but the fee is so much cheaper! I paid s$340 (including registration S$20) for 13 lessons.

Honestly, the class is really value for money! However, the lesson wasn’t as lively as JGC. They sing song with music played by a teacher using piano in background but was rather stiff.  Perhaps not so much of rhythm. But one thing for sure, they have much more teaching which is good for those parents who do very little teaching their children Chinese.

As for Yvette, her participation rate was only 65% but I guess she won’t mind much as long as I am around.

My review for the first lesson was discounted. I like the teaching but then they are not consistent. (Remember I am Accountant and Consistency is very important!!!)

笑得真甜 is today lesson topic. It covers Eye, Nose, Ear & Mouth. BUT the craft did not cover the Ear and added with HAIR. I feel this is incomplete.

Anyway, I asked D to add in the ear for Yvette and I did the word card for her too and found out she actually could recognise all the word except for eye!

Well done! (Reading this book – 我的身体 helps!)
