A Fearful Ride & Our Day in The East

I realised we have not gone for any ride for more than half a year. (Our last ride at ECP here.) We’ve been very busy seriously. (Who is not busy then?)

FIL had stay in hospital for a period of 3 weeks and he was just out of hospital a few days ago after a day surgery. D had been traveling to and fro to the hospital almost every single day including weekend. I have been the sole care giver for Yvette since D is so occupied with my FIL.

Finally we decided to have some fun in East Coast Park, the weather decided to turn against us.We were all up early at 7 plus in the morning getting ready for the outing, then it started to pour.

We waited, waited and waited. Finally the rain decided to go away. So SIL and Capri took a bus down from Bishan to meet us and off we went to ECP by a cab.

This is Yvette with her new hair style. Short? But we love it. Easy to manage and the hair won’t get into her eye (most important).

We alighted at the taxi stand near the MacDonald. We wanted to let Yvette to have some fun at the playground but it’s still very wet due to the rain. But we were in time to catch one free Merry-go-ride offered by an old couple. However Yvette was really afraid and I took her out of the ride after a min there. (The ride near Mac is really cheap. This ride only cost the couple a dollar.)

P/S: Decided to keep the picture of the couple and the kids because I want to thank them again here.

Both of us rented the bike with the child seat so that Yvette could choose among us. And we decided to let D to ride with Yvette first.

We have half time at the Food Centre and we found out a ATM was finally there!

All of us agreed the popiah at east coast hawker centre is must-eat! Don’t miss this out.

Omg the popiah at east coast hawker centre is must-eat!

Yvette was enjoying the food so much and kept feeding herself. And Yvette tried the coconut drink right from the coconut for the first time!

Yvette loves to self feed now.

We cycled for another 1.5 km away from the food centre and we decided to ride back. We were running out of time.

The coming back was tough. I have miscalculated the timing. Yvette got so tired and she almost DOZED off. I was the one riding her as D gotten a call from overseas due to his work. We fallen off from the bike and luckily we landed on the grass ground.

What a fearful Ride? It’s so scary.

Both of us were not hurt. Yvette just got a shock but then she didn’t even cry. D took over her and he had to keep talking to her to keep her awake. Yvette was so cooperative. She didn’t even throw any tantrum nor even fuss.

We were really late. Think we returned our bike half an hour later than the required timing. But we were not penalized.

We decided to leave ECP to Parkway Parade. On our way out, our Yvette who had won the battle against the sleeping monster, ops, wanted to play with sand. Oh yes, how can we not agree to her request. We have brought along the barang barang too!

On the sand, we also saw some kites in the cloudy sky too.

I started to feel rain drop on my face. We have to leave if not we will be  all wet. We quickly packed up and headed to the mall.

As we walked toward to the mall, we dropped by a pet shop that are selling many pet. Of course Yvette was fascinated. She was so happy to see fish, rabbit, dogs and even hamster!

Did I ever mention that I love the baby room in Parkway Parade. Big room and deep sink. Usually after the ride, I preferred to “bathe” Yvette here. Yvette got all clean up except her smelly hair.

We shopped around and Yvette decided to do some art work. Look at her masterpiece, she had improved so much. (Her last art work here.) With a little help from us and her own judgment and her art work was so much neater this round. (All the colours of the art work were decided by her.)

P/S: She told me Yellow Sun and White Could. It must be from Wow! Said the Owl!

My sister dropped by Parkway parade to pass me her Isetan card where I run up to Ally to say hi. We gotten this car set for Yvette. (This is the toy meant for her half birthday on 13th Nov 2010. Yes we do celebrate half birthday.) We came across this toy in Stella’s house and decided to get it for her as both D and Yvette love it so much.

With additional discount I got, I got this set and 5 cars for around 100 bucks. It’s not a bad deal after all. All thanks to my sister.

P/S: Some pictures in this entry were taken from my niece FB.
