Splash Out for Zac’s Second Birthday

We went out with my good friend, Stella and her two lovely kids to celebrate her son second birthday today. As we were thinking where we should go last week, I suggested Sembawang Shopping Centre after reading several entries pen down by some parents in their blog.

As the stipulated timings for the water play in the Splash Park are 11am-2pm and 5pm-8pm, we planned to meet at 11.30 am so that our kid won’t miss out the highlight in this mall.

We met at Sembawang MRT and took the shuttle bus service provided by the mall. It wasn’t a long ride but the bus perpetually stopped at every bus-stop as observed by Stella. (The residents there are so lucky.)

We proceeded to the Splash Park immediately. We changed our child into their swim suit so that they could have fun at the wet area first. After playing water for about 30 mins, we changed them back to dry clothing and let them have fun in the playground next to the Splash Park. They had another half an hour of fun at the playground.

We were so hungry after an hour of “workout”. We headed Fish & Co. As today was Zac’s birthday celebration, I decided to let loose over Yvette’s diet. (She will be gazing at the two older children eating those foods if I don’t let her have it.) Anyway, she really ate nothing but fries and I let her try Yakult for the first time. And she finished the whole bottle. Alamak! We planned to cut the cake after the lunch but Zac dozed off during the meal time.

Puzzle play while waiting for food. Zac is really good at puzzle. He could do 30 to 40 pcs of puzzle at the age of 2.

After our meal, we went up to Emiko Arts to try our first piece of art work with Yvette. (Practically, I am the one doing it most of the time as the bottle of paint is too hard for Yvette to squeeze.)

We brought the cake from Le Grenier à Pain, a famous bakery in Paris. (This shop was located next to the entrance of the mall.) It’s a hazelnut cake, topped with cookies, melted chocolate and strawberries. I would say this cake is expensive but very nice. I think this is the only cake store in Singapore because I never see it elsewhere too.

We headed MOF for drinks and cut the cake there with Zac. And this round Yvette shared my Ribena. (She really had plenty of junk food today.) After cake cutting, we headed home.

And yes, this is my favorite photo of Yvette of the day.

P/S: According to Stella, the water play and the playground in SSC is really fun. She compared this with IMM  Sky Garden and LOT 1 water play.
