Kayson’s First Birthday Party

We were invited to Kayson’s First Birthday last Thursday after his actual birthday celebration. His mum passed me the invitation card and informed me the celebration will be at East Coast Park Goldkist Chalet.

I wanted to go there early so that Yvette will have chance to play with the sand on the beach. And again, due to renovation work and packing, this plan had to be shelved.

We only managed to leave home at 6 plus and we made a quick trip to the library to return and renew some books. We then hopped on a cab and headed ECP. We reached there about 7.30 pm and bumped into another classmate on our way in. (As they were leaving.)

As usual for first birthday it was a bash! As they are Malay, they have many relatives and cousins. I would say this party is special at least to us.

  • It was celebrated in the evening instead in the day.
  • It was a BBQ party, and all the foods were home cooked.
  • The birthday boy is Malay.

The birthday cakes were again baked by his granny. This round she baked two cakes for him. Before the cake cutting, his cousin (a pre-schooler) played a tune of birthday song using guitar. Then follow by we sang birthday song in English and Malay.

As the “movable” space is small, Yvette most of the time is being carried by us. We let Yvette eat some cake and the interesting agar agar ball. We have a great time there talking to his parent and the grand-parents.

We left the place around 8 plus and headed to Parkway Parade and did some late shopping. We have late night today. We only got home around 11 pm.
