We managed to find a solution for this problem after reading from various sites and solution offered on sites.
We decided to brought the recovery software from this site and attempted to recover my lost data.
Can you imagine I am jumping up and down for joy like this?
Awwww, I thought I can blog yesterday since Yvette slept quite early due to the influence of the medication. But then when I turned on my 3 yo lappy I notice the D drive (we partition the hard disk) of my lappy die-d on me. I spent 3 hours trying to “solve” the problem but then it seemed all my efforts had gone down into the drain. (Tried “safe mode”, “in DOS” also can’t retrieve back the data.)
There are two months of photographs stored in the disk that yet to be backup by me. I am lucky in the way (I have constantly back up my data into two hard disks I have on hand) but then there are still two months gap. The most unfortunate part is I just deleted the master copy of those pictures/video from the camera a few days ago after storing on my camera for so long period of time. *Sad*
I wonder who has the similar experience? Can you share with you how you eventually recover your data? D said there is still chance we can recover the data but we might need to spend some money to buy some software for data recovery. I don’t mind spending but then anyone what there have brought such software and could share with me which one is worth investing?
P/S: Please back up data constantly. Never leave any months gap. The best is to do weekly backup!!!
I nearly need to rewrite my last entry on our outing in United Square.
I blog using Microsoft Word and will then paste the written entry into Window Live Writer.
Yesterday, my notebook couldn’t initialize. (My notebook is always in sleep mode. I am lazy to turn on the notebook all the time again and again.) I removed my battery and let it “restart”.
When I finally start up my notebook and open my word document, it prompts me whether I want to kept the last two word documents. Without thinking much, I clicked “No”. When I reopened those documents, I realized all my effort gone!!!
I asked my hubby will there be a way to relieve the last generated document. And his answer is yes and here are the steps.
Go “C” Drive -> Look for your user name -> Find this folder, AppData. Under this folder, you need to find the Word folder. -> You should see a few documents with this naming convention, “Auto- recovery save of “your file name”, click open. You should be able to find the last updated copy.
Remember I clicked “No” when Microsoft word prompted me to. Those files that I have clicked “No” to it, had gone to the recycled bin. You just need to go to the recycled bin to restore the file and then you will see it in the AppData/Word folder again.
You don’t need a Chinese program to enable you to type Chinese. As long as you are using Microsoft OS, you should be able to add Chinese Keyboard onto your program.
Here are the steps.
Setting -> Control Panel
Clock, Language & Region
Click Change Keyboards or other input methods
Under Keyboards and Languages, click change Keyboards
Just click the Add to add the Chinese keyboard onto your computer.
Hope the above helps
