Some Preparation Work for Yvette’s 2nd Birthday

In about two weeks, my little girl will turn two. So fast! Time and Tide really wait for no man!

Last year, when I read Nic’s blog (she only opened to her blog to her reader now), I was inspired to bake a cake for Yvette’s second birthday. But the plan was shelved as I really don’t have a courage to bake one for everyone. (I have never bake a big cake before with icing and cream.)

Then I read Rachel’s entry a few days ago, I was been inspired again. But it was too late, I have already order Yvette’s 2nd birthday cake. Oh well, perhaps next year?

For this year, her birthday celebration will be on the Saturday before her actual birthday. We do have some other plans for her on the day before and the actual birthday too. It will be a small celebration among the families for this time. The only guest I have invited is no one except for my long long friend, Stella and her family.

I have booked the venue, the cake for that day and the actual day. Book a ticket to somewhere but not the food for the celebration day.

As I can only reuse some of the decor from her  first birthday, so we decide to DIY birthday banner,  some decor and a party hat for this year.

Since we didn’t attend class today and Yvette was off to nap early. (I guess because of she napped early this afternoon, she already fallen asleep at around 9.30 pm today. PHEW!) We went out around mid afternoon to Plaza Sing to Daiso and Spotlight. After an hour in Daiso, (we didn’t manage to get anything from Spotlight but we got some ideas on how to do banner there), here are the stuffs we brought…

2nd party DIY

In next two weeks, I hope we will have some creative juices to design and draw up the banner and party hat for the coming birthday celebration. (In any case we fail, I think we have to buy!!!)

Wish us luck and dust us some creative JUICES!
