As we have other agenda on Friday morning, I have arranged a make-up class for Yvette regular swimming class today.
We went to the Turf City branch and were a disaster. Yvette was wailing most of the time. New instructor, new place made her really uncomfortable.
But I do like this place as compare to Holland branch and I have also requested to put us on waiting list.
The travelling time from our place from Turf City Branch and Holland Branch was about the time. I planned to take the shuttle bus from interchange and gotten the timing wrong. SO I resorted to take a cab there. It cost me about a dollar difference as compare if I would have to take a cab to Holland Branch.
I am glad I made this decision to arrange the make-up class in Turf City Branch and found out there are really more than one pro if I do transfer Yvette.
Besides travelling will be easier for me, there are three shower rooms as compare to one in Holland. The maximum water height in this branch is 1.2m as compare to 3m in Holland. There is a waiting “safe” area for Yvette to move around after the swimming. I can also leave Yvette there asking some mothers/the admin staff to look after for me so that I can do a very quick (2 mins) shower (which I did today).
I can feed Yvette in the waiting area too. I can also do some last min grocery shopping before I head home after the swimming lesson.
But there is one con. The instructor in Holland Branch is better than the instructor who taught Yvette today. The one in Holland explains more safety technique when she teaches.
Well, I guess sometimes I just can’t have best of both worlds.
P/S: This is the last lesson of Yvette’s first term with the school.
Ooh, the shower room and waiting area are cool ! Certainly more safe than the Holland area. At least you had female instructor? We had a male instructor – with his booming voice, certainly our JR would be even more scared. HAHAH.
And at home, JR runs into the pool himself even, not scared. Anyway, he can hold his breath a little and bends down into the water to blow bubbles, and is not afraid when I dip him into the water gliding now.
Sam,
Yes both classes we went were female instructor. I think you need to get a female instructor for baby if you seriously want baby to learn swimming via class.
I think JR is good. At least he could dip his head into the water and blow bubble. Yvette is still not there yet.
