The Repair Cost for Our Sony T30

We went down to Funan IT Mall and Peninsula Plaza to check the repair cost of this camera. Unfortunately the repair cost quoted by the camera shop and Sony was about S$200 to S$400.

@_@

I can use the money to buy a new camera!

One of the reasons of wanting to repair this camera mainly because we paid around S$700 plus to buy it (3 to 4 years back). It was one of the best cameras in town. I couldn’t imagine the technology of camera has advanced so fast. We paid S$200 plus for a 1GB memory card and now only need less than S$50 to get a 4GB memory card. WOOT!!!

We left with only one choice that is to get a new camera. Since Comex Show is next starting next Thursday to Sunday (10 – 13 Sept), we decided to get one camera from there. Both of us are supporter of Sony, so we will be getting DSC-T900. Is there any other suggestion? In the meantime, I will be using the only working camera we have. I hope I will not invite any stare when I am using it.

As for this camera, Jay, I am sorry to take your comment lightly when I first read it. I am using your method (to repair the camera) right now. Hope it will bring the life of this camera back!

BTW Jay, does the rice need to cover the camera?

What a Lousy Day?

Yvette’s fever was gone but she was still cranky.

Yvette finally pooped but she was still not eating much.

Yvette’s nap was adjusted to normal but she was till clingy.

I wonder when this phase will be over.

Good luck seldom comes in pairs but bad things never walk alone. (It never rains but it pours)

Due to some unforeseen circumstances, water was poured into our Sony T30.

I wonder can it be repaired. Or we have to buy a new one. Now with Yvette, I can’t live without a camera. I am sure everyone will agree with me!

Our Library Trip (13)

Hubby could identify Yvette’s babyish voice in the crowd! @_@

The moment I stepped into the main section of the library, it was so noisy. There were about 10 over children queuing outside the story-telling hall, getting ready for the next session of story-telling time. But Hubby was still managed to anticipate we were walking toward him. My baby voice emerged thru the crowd! :X

This trip was another short trip. We didn’t want Yvette to get into the ground too often. We didn’t want her to touch the book and put her hand into her mouth. (We might not be faster than her action.)

So when we reached the library, I brought Yvette to wash her hand and hubby quickly went to browse the books. Within 20 minutes, we found a few books we like and we left the library quickly.

Shepherd’s Pie

I am too lazy to cook a full meal today. So I resorted to cook one dish meal instead. I decided to give Shepherd’s Pie a try.

My Shepherd's Pie

My Shepherd's Pie

Ingredients:
5 Russet Potatoes (Peeled and cubed)
1 packet of un-sweeten soy milk (200ml)
3 tbsp of un-salted butter
200g of minced meat (pork)
½ cup of carrot
½ cup of Swiss brown mushroom
½ cup of frozen peas
1 large onion
3 cloves of garlic
4 slices of cheese
Some seasoning such as salt, light soya sauce and pepper
Method:

  1. Steam the potatoes with some salt till it soft. (I prefer steaming as I wanted to retain the nutrient of the potatoes.)
  2. Sauté the onion with 1 tbsp of butter till it soft. Add carrot, mushroom and peas according to the cooking time.
  3. Add minced meat and saute until no longer pink. Add light soya sauce and pepper.
  4. Placed the cooked meat in a casserole.
  5. Mashed the cooked potatoes with 2 tbsp of butter. Mix it with the un-sweeten soy milk till it reaches a consistent paste.
  6. Distribute the potatoes on top of the cooked meat.
  7. I put 4 slices of Craft single cheese on top of the potatoes instead of other as hubby is not a cheese lover.
  8. Bake till the cheese until bubbling and brown for about 30 mins in 200C in the oven.

As my niece was off from work due to her migraine, I brought this pie over to their place and to share with them. (My second SIL has 3 children. (Age 24, 22 & 18)  And all of them were at home when we were there.) BOTH my hubby and my niece ask me about was there any staple food like rice, bread or noodles.

I was like o_O.

I told them, isn’t potatoes, a staple food? There is salad too. (We brought our salad along.)

They explained they are Asian and need food like rice, bread or noodles. So in the end, they packed a medium size of fried rice and 5 chicken wings.

All of us love this pie. (6 of us including my SIL) It is nice and really easy to cook. Try it!
