Yes, we were attending another birthday party today. Honestly it’s really tiring to attend two functions consecutively.
This round it was my hubby’s colleague son celebrating his first birthday. Coincidently both parties we attended, the families are from Indian. But we experienced different things today.
They rented a venue in one of the restaurant (Anjappar, Authentic Chettinaad) in Little India. I have been breathing for 31 year and I’m born and raised in Singapore, but I never been to Little India before. This was the first time I was there. (Nothing to be proud of, but again it’s another eye-opening experience for me. Is there anyone out there like me?)
We reached there around 7 pm but the host had yet arrived. (Hmmm, this is not very commendable.) Anyway, while we were waiting for the host and other guest to arrive, I fed Yvette her dinner. Another guest who was my hubby colleague arrived 15 mins after we were settling down.
I think the host only arrived at 7.25 pm. I have met them before. They were invited to Yvette’s first birthday too. Their son was much bigger now after we last met 3 months ago. Guests started to pour in. Maybe it’s their culture of having late dinner, at 8 pm; I still don’t see a lot of their guests around.

The Set up
The cake cutting was done at 8 pm. After singing the birthday song, they have a very short praying session. (They were catholic.)

The cake
We were offered cake before dinner. Arrr… I was so hungry by then. Dinner only started at 8.30 pm. But I can only eat a small portion of the food served. It’s too spicy, I was really afraid it will affect the quality of my breast milk. As for Yvette, I think she started to show sign of tiredness too. We didn’t stay long after our food mainly due to Yvette kept yawning. (I think she must be tired.)
My niece offered to pick us up as she wanted to pop by our place to collect her stuff and also she was around that area too. (She was at Marina Square.) I took up her offer gladly.
We left at 9.15 pm.
On our way out, we found one restaurant really happening.

The Banana Leaf Apolo
I told my hubby maybe we could pop by one day with Yvette to visit the way of life in Little India.
