Term 3: Fourth Lesson with JGC

After the fall, Yvette was clingy to me. Luckily this accident happened really early in the morning. It only 8.30 a.m. after I pacified her; I brought her out of the bed room and let her played with her toys in the living hall. She was really cranky, even my FIL can tell there was a huge different. I told him she had a bad fall this morning. Sigh. My FIL felt heartache.

After I bathed her, I tried to feed her cereal but she refused to eat them. I gave her some Milo instead. I have to carry her everywhere I go, that included cooking. Yes, I can manage Yvette while I cook. Anyway, we still manage to leave house at 10.20 a.m. After we left home, I only then realized my HP was totally flat. This had made my hubby worried for us the entire morning. (Using a Nokia HP now, thus didn’t really notice the low battery indication given by the phone.)

We were always on time for the free play unlike GUG, we always miss it. In this class, there is a total of 30 mins free play. 20 mins in the beginning and 10 mins at the play ground outside the school before the lesson end.

As the lesson is predictable, story-telling time is usually after the welcome song. So far, they have been using a big book for story-telling. This is commendable. There was no messy activity today. It was Parachute Play. Yvette experienced this in GUG. So this time, she wasn’t afraid but she did show some uncertainty but she did involve herself in the play. Papaya was given to the babies during the snack time/self-feeing time. She loves it.

After class, we went Isetan on Scott Road. I brought my lunch from the supermarket and had my lunch there as well. We went home after our lunch.

Yvette’s First Obvious Scar Due To Fall

Every morning I will nurse Yvette lying on our bed and both of us will go back to sleep beside each other. Ever since the first fall she had in March, I have been vigilant.

Though Yvette might be far away from achieving how to walk, her crawling and climbing really scare us. She got little cut here and there from times to times. And Many times, we did manage to get hold of her before accident happened. Alas, not this time. I didn’t open my eye when Yvette climbed over my body this morning resulted she had another fall from our bed. </3

Her eye lid had gotten a scratch caused by the magazine rack beside my bed. Hubby had reminded me to remove that rack but I kept procrastinating. Arrh!!! But fortunately the mark was only on her eye lid not her eye, if not… It’s really a blessing in disguise.

I called my hubby to tell him what had happened. Of course he was upset on what had happened and suggested that maybe we should change to even a lower bed to prevent such accident to happen again.

As of now, Yvette didn’t give any sign of discomfort due to the fall. I hope she already get over it. I was as traumatize as she was. Though fall is common but not normal for babies, we should always be alert and child proof our home to minimise the impact of fall; sadly to mention, I had failed badly this round.

P/S:  It is hard to find a right cushion to baby proof the little gap between my bed and the cupboard. Winnie (Yvette’s teacher in JGC) suggested me to use bed-rail.
