We celebrated Yvette first birthday a few hours ago. It’s much difficult to organize the first birthday than baby’s first month. It is tougher to us due the choice of the cake. We wanted a special designed cake for Yvette. The one and only designed cake for Yvette.
The “cake hunting” started two months ago while I am chatting with one of my gf about first birthday cake. She told me if you want nice tier and 3D cake I need to place your order with those home baked cake shop at least a few months before your special occasion. Some of these “shops” are already fully book for the year. -.-
Anyway, I am still lucky to get one for Yvette.
Kellie is such a nice lady. I will never expect she will deliver the cake to my place out of her goodwill. This wasn’t an initial arrangement with her. I was supposed to collect the cake on the 2nd May evening. I sms-ed her to check what time can I collect the cake. She replied me about 7 to 8 in the evening. She followed another sms asking me where I stay. It is lucky we are staying quite nearby to each other. And guess what, she offered to deliver the cake to me instead. And when she was here in the early morning, my darling Yvette suddenly woke up for milk. :S I sent Kellie an another sms telling her I need another 5 mins as I am breastfeeding Yvette. Kellie extended me goodwill. She sent the cake to my door. Oh boy. THANKS KELLIE.
Here are some pictures we took on the cake. (I steal two pics taken by Kellie on her blog.)

The birthday ger & her lovely cake
As for the décor in the house, I placed my order via Singapore Motherhood spree. This was pre-arranged 1 ½ months back. I paid a delivery charge of $12 bucks as we do not have a car to pick up those balloons from them.

Before I commented about the food we had ordered, let me share the goodies bag I have prepared for the kids as well.

Goodies Bags
Finally is the food.
I think the catering is disappointing. Generally I got good feedback from my guests but to compare with the previous catering I had ordered for Yvette’s first month, this seemed not to be a better choice.
Fostre Food Catering had good rating in the Singapore motherhood forum. Despite Neo Garden Catering sent me a 15% discount voucher; I still proceed to order the food from Fostre. My neighbor who works as HR personel is aware about this catering company sings good praise for them too. However, my sister commented their fried rice was not too nice. I agreed with her.
We packed those leftover foods after all guests had left. To my surprise, the beehoon turned bad after a few hours. Disappointing! I don’t think I will order any food from them anymore.

Overall it’s a nice little party we had for our little bao bei. I thank all the guests who spare their precious time to join us to celebrate Yvette’s first birthday and all the blessing given to Yvette.

Blessing!
Thanks very much!
Now I look forward for another celebration that I have planned for Yvette on her actual date of birth.
Happy Birthday, Yvette!
No picture of the birthday girl with the cake?
wahh the cake so nice!!! =)
There are pics taken with the cakes but those pics taken by our camera are either not clear or mostly family pics. Still waiting my nieces to send me the pics taken by their camera. Will try to take more pics of the birthday girl in next celebration.
okie! the gifted ballet shoes look great.
Thanks, but that is not a ballet shoes.
Anyway, finally found one pic tat can be snipped and added to this entry. Not a nice one but better than nothing.
what I meant was, the style is ‘ballet shoes’ style. I know it’s not a shoe for ballet.
